The district's mission is to prepare students to reach their full potential by providing a foundation of knowledge that will assist them in reaching their goals. The Canton R-V School District is located in Lewis and Clark Counties in northeast Missouri. The Class 2, K-12 district is accredited by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. There are two attendance centers in the Canton R-V School District; a K-6 Elementary School with a preschool special needs (ECSE) classroom and a 7-12 High School. Canton R-V offers a diverse curriculum, including instructional programs in art, business education, computer education, language arts, sciences, social studies, health, mathematics, vocal and instrumental music, physical education, agriculture education, and special education. Advanced placement courses are offered in various subjects and Canton R-V has partnered with Culver-Stockton College (Canton, MO) and Moberly Area Community College (Moberly, MO) to offer dual credit college courses to juniors and seniors. This private, four-year college is located on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River in the town of Canton, Missouri. The mission of Culver-Stockton College is "to prepare students of promise for a dynamic world through a distinctive experiential curriculum within a supportive learning community founded upon the best values of faith and the human spirit." Culver-Stockton currently offers more than 60 majors and minors. The campus was founded in 1853 by members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). It is the oldest co-educational College west of the Mississippi River. C-SC offers a traditional residential program, as well as online courses. Students can enroll in over 40 different campus organizations. There are just over 1000 students enrolled at C-SC with a teacher to student ratio of 1:15. The average class size is less than 20.
